A 15-year partnership between Siemens and Monash Health has been recognised at the 2023 Australian Security Industry Awards, with the two organisations awarded ‘Outstanding Security Partnership’.
“This award serves as a testament to the exceptional performance and unwavering commitment to security exhibited by Monash Health. They have set a benchmark for security excellence, and I am proud that it is underpinned by Siemens technology,” said Peter Halliday, CEO of Siemens Australia and New Zealand.
The longstanding partnership with Monash Health, Victoria’s largest public health service has seen cutting-edge security technology solutions deployed at several Monash Health facilities.
“The security enhancements delivered through this partnership have improved patient safety, staff wellbeing, and overall security. Their efforts have translated into a safer and more secure healthcare environment,” Halliday added.
A recent achievement has been the successful planning and execution of security technology and access control infrastructure for the newly completed Victorian Heart Hospital, Australia’s first dedicated cardiac hospital.
Officially opened in January 2023, the hospital features hundreds of CCTV cameras, card controllers, and duress points installed by Monash Health and Siemens to ensure the highest levels of safety and security for patients and staff at this state-of-the-art healthcare and research facility.
Collaborative efforts are now focused on upcoming projects, including new community hospitals in Cranbourne and Pakenham, slated for completion in 2024, and a new four-storey, 150-bed public residential aged care facility anticipated for completion in 2025.
In addition to new projects, Monash Health and Siemens also continue to maintain and enhance security infrastructure across existing Monash Health facilities to ensure that Monash Health remains at the forefront of security technology.
