Australian interiors have impressed in the 2016 Inside Awards, with 11 projects shortlisted.
Inside Awards, part of the Inside World Festival of Interiors, is a platform for the global interiors community, distinguishing the finest interior spaces of the past year.
The awards are open to both interior designers and architects, and finished projects can be entered into nine categories: Bars & Restaurants, Civic, Culture & Transport, Creative Re-Use, Display, Health & Education, Hotels, Offices, Residential – sponsored by Miele, and Retail.
The 11 Australian projects (with some good odds) have been shortlisted among five of the nine categories:
- Creative Re-Use: 1/3
- Health & Education: 1/6
- Hotels: 1/6
- Offices: 5/16
- Residential: 3/8
Statistically, BVN would be the most likely to bring home an award, with three projects shortlisted – Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Primary School Stage 1, North Strathfield, NSW (Health & Education), Macquarie Bank Workplace, Sydney (Offices) and Minter Ellison, Sydney (Offices).
Other firms include K.P.D.O, Hassell, Matt Gibson Architecture + Design, Woods Bagot, Ian Moore Architects, Iredale Pedersen Hook Architects and Caroline Di Costa Architects, and Smart Design Studio.
