A UK design firm has beaten a formidable field of Australian and international practices to win the brief for the ground-floor fitout of 3XN’s Quay Quarter Tower project in Sydney.
Design Research Studio, headed by well-known director Tom Dixon, won a design competition for the project ahead of local firms SJB Interiors and Woods Bagot as well as another UK-based firm.
The team will design the lobby, reception, meeting and conference facilities of the $1 billion tower and will also work with Danish lighting and public art consultant Olafur Eliasson for light and art installations inside and outside the tower, according to Fairfax reports.
Construction on the tower will begin next year and is due for completion in 2021.
