The 2013 Australian Timber Design Awards have been announced with Lend Lease taking away the top award for Melbourne’s Forté at Victoria Harbour – the tallest modern timber apartment building in the world.

Forté is a prime example of what can be achieved using the latest in engineered timber products.

The judges were impressed by the use of cross-laminated timber (CLT) in the building frame.

It is expected that Forté will serve as a demonstration to the Australia market on how this revolutionary technology permits the rapid construction of strong, lightweight buildings that can be tall and wide.
