Australian firm Campbell Luscombe Architects received some positive international recognition for its work in the aged care sector late last year.
Company director Leo Campbell was named ‘Most Outstanding Architect in Over 50s Housing’ in the 2011 Global Over 50s Housing — Healthcare Awards.
The awards, sponsored by the UK Over 50’s Housing Publishing Group, were presented at a ceremony at Grosvenor House in London.
This was the inaugural year for the Global Awards for seniors housing. The winners included representatives from Malaysia, Australia, South Africa, the USA, Netherlands and the UK.
More than 1260 developers, operators and managers from 102 countries were evaluated for the 20 awards.
A lifetime achievement award was made to Prof. Dr. Hans Becker of the Humanitas Group in the Netherlands who is considered one of the leading seniors living/aged care thinkers in the world and is the 'Father' of the Apartment For Life concept.
