Stramit Monopanels clad the exterior of the Elizabeth Street
‘Walkups’ project in Richmond, Victoria, giving residents a resilient façade in
a Colorbond colour.
The Stramit Monopanel wall cladding has a concealed fixing
system that enables a smooth faced finish design for feature walling, effective
in both horizontal and diagonal applications.
The Monopanel is a cold roll formed steel product in G550
base material (550 MPa minimum yield stress) with zinc-aluminium alloy
substrate in accordance with AS1397 and colour coating available in a range of
colours.
It’s simple "fix, hinge and cover and fix again"
installation system features a continuous interlock and concealed fix, which
ensures a weatherseal for all joints. Its 250mm cover is comprised of High
Tensile Steel which benefits a greater damage resistance and performance.
Principal Architect for Williams Boag, Peter Williams said
the flexibility of the Stramit Monopanel meant it provided a seamless “articulation
to the façade.”
The redeveloped ‘walk up’ buildings on Elizabeth Street,
Richmond are the first completed part in a series of upgrades from Williams
Boag Architects (WBa) which promise to transform the district’s housing estate
into a benchmark affordable housing facility.
