Barcelona’s IESE Business School has released its annual Cities in Motion Index, which is a list of the world’s “smartest cities”. Rankings for 165 cities from 80 countries have been determined through performance scores based on a long rubric of economic and social indicators.
According to the IESE, this rubric has been designed to judge each city’s progress towards “a novel form of local economic development: the creation of a global city, the promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit, and innovation, among other aspects.”
