Perth piazza wins landscape award

The City of Perth’s has won two awards at the Western Australian chapter of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture Awards.

The City of Perth’s has won two awards at he Western Australian chapter of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture Awards.

Northbridge Piazza took out the night’s top prize, winning the Landscape Architecture Award of Excellence in Design.

The recently completed Howard Lane upgrade won the Landscape Architecture Award for Design.

The $13.6 million Northbridge Piazza project comprises a community building with retail space, an 8m giant LED screen, an 8m green wall, an archway sculpture created by WA artist Lorenna Grant, outdoor furniture and 1,800 sqm open space for community events and informal gatherings.

The upgrade of Howard Lane was initiated by the recommendations in the City of Perth’s strategy 'Forgotten Spaces — Revitalising Perth’s Laneways Episode 1'.

The project includes upgrades of the lighting, paving and the addition of artwork.
