Australia’s Pixel building by Studio505 sits atop a list of the world’s greenest buildings in this infographic

Created by an Irish window company, ‘Sustainable Architecture: The World’s Greenest Buildings’ lists 12 famous buildings from around the globe that have a strong environmental design focus and includes projects by architects such as Wilkinson Eyre and HOK architects.

Melbourne’s Pixel building by Studio505 was placed at the top of the list and was celebrated for its innovative use of sun shading system and wind turbines.

The project was Australia’s first carbon neutral office building and has the highest score achieved in the world under LEED by the US Green Building Council. It was also the recipient of the Large Commercial Award & Best of the Best award at the 2011 Sustainability Awards.
