A faceted metal façade designed by PPAG Architects will complete the renovations of Vienna’s Michelin Star Steirereck restaurant.
PPAG’s design was chosen by the restaurant’s owners after they held a competition calling for proposals for a complete interior reworking of the venue, as well as extensions.
The winning submission features long, narrow extensions clad in large pieces of reflective metal that produce misty reflections and at times see the building merge into its surrounds.
Enormous sash windows break up the faceted metal, connecting each private dining room to the outdoors.
Inside, single-table units are arranged so they each have an intimate environment, backed by a curved, wooden screen and a sash window.
The star-rated restaurant also features a green roof that provides the kitchen with fresh ingredients.
