The KlassikDrain KS100 drain system and Heelsafe anti-slip grates from
ACO Polycrete were installed at the Surfers Paradise Foreshore redevelopment project.
The $25m upgrade aims to reconnect the heart of Surfers Paradise to the beach as well as create a safe, accessible public space with improved recreational opportunities and necessary infrastructure for major events. The wide pedestrian promenade encompassing barbeques and picnic areas required a trench drainage system.
Designers selected long runs of the sloped KlassikDrain KS100 trench drain system to minimise connection to the underlying stormwater pipe.
Grade 316 stainless steel Heelsafe anti-slip grates were also installed to deliver durability in the salt water environment.
ACO products also used in the project included Rhinocast ductile iron access covers and ACO Cablemate trafficable enclosures.
