Fielders Prominence was specified for both roof and wall cladding applications at the Bowden ‘B’ Apartments, a major residential building project developed in Bowden, South Australia.
Construction on the multi-million-dollar project began in May 2017. Designed by GHDWoodhead Architects, the apartment building is an example of the higher density urban model of living promoted by the South Australian government in the state.
Fielders supplied 700 square metres of 220mm wide 0.7 Prominence panels for installation by SA Construct.
Commenting on their involvement with the ‘B’ Apartment project, Fielders business and development manager (commercial and specifications) James Harrison said, “Fielders Prominence is ideal for projects such as the ‘B’ Apartments as it is suitable for both roofing and walling installations. It is a rare mix that both architects and builders can appreciate, and which can successfully combine eye-catching street appeal with versatility, meaning there is no compromise on either style or practicality.”
The flat pans of the 220mm wide 0.7 Fielders Prominence delivered a clean and modern finish to the exterior of the apartments. Designed for simple and manageable installation, the panels allowed SA Construct to complete the project within the scheduled period.
Fielders Prominence panels were ordered in COLORBOND steel Shale Grey from BlueScope to provide a 0.7mm BMT finish. The custom Prominence 0.7 and Shale Grey flashings were then purpose-built at the Fielders Mile End branch.
With a dynamic push from the state government for urban renewal, innovative design solutions such as Fielders Prominence are changing the look and feel of inner city living in South Australia.
