GH Commercial collaborated with the architects on a project for St Matthews Anglican Church, providing specific flooring solutions for each space in the new community building.
Located in the heart of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the new complex on Manly Corso was designed by Du Plessis + Du Plessis Architects. Built at a cost of $15.6 million and taking three years to complete, the end result is a multipurpose place for people to gather, worship and learn, with the wider community also able to enjoy its world class facilities.
The new Darley Smith Building sits unobtrusively behind a facade of shopfronts and primarily functions to serve the connected church, with streamlined meeting and conference rooms and a state-of-the-art 180-seat auditorium, available for community hire.
The diversity of spaces required specific flooring, factoring acoustics, aesthetics and durability into the design considerations.
A flooring solution for each space
Pairing our Godfrey Hirst Apollo Hardwood in colour 535 Blackbutt Elegant and Feltex Cumulus carpet tiles in colours 540 Billow and 760 Humilis across the new Ministry Centre, with Sussex Broadloom wool commercial carpet in colour 940 Driftwood additionally used, the overall effect creating a contemporary and understated style throughout.
The Apollo Hardwood Hybrid range is designed using Australian wood species of Blackbutt and Spotted Gum, and available in 6 elegant shades. Apollo Hardwood flooring works superbly on its own or creates huge visual interest when used in tandem with a complementary carpet product, such as the free-flowing cloud-like pattern of our Cumulus tiles.
