James Hardie introduces their newest fibre cement product – Hardie™ Brushed Concrete Cladding, featuring a unique embedded texture reminiscent of softly-brushed concrete, to deliver home exteriors a visually sophisticated finish, which is dynamic to the touch.
Ideal for creating modern facades with interest, Hardie Brushed Concrete Cladding can be used alone for a modern minimalist finish, or complementary to other Hardie exterior cladding solutions achieving a personalised exterior design. Hardie Brushed Concrete Cladding is suitable for ground floor and mixed-storey applications, so you can achieve modern without the constraints of traditional building materials.
Bennett House by Futureflip is one of the first homes in Australia to feature the new Hardie Brushed Concrete Cladding. Helping achieve a minimalist box modern facade, the cladding has been used across most of of Bennett House’s exterior. “We wanted to create a minimalist, box modern facade so Hardie Brushed Concrete Cladding was the perfect solution with its subtle texture and was perfect for our clients’ low-fuss, low-key lifestyle,” said Neil. “It gives a nice, crisp seamless look so it also works well on the sides and back of the building across the large surfaces.”
Neil enjoyed working with new Hardie Brushed Concrete Cladding. “I really like the texture – the vertical groove looks great, and it’s easy to clean. The product also overcame some design challenges including facade beams. Typically, facade beams on a box modern architectural home are done in render; however, this comes with an inherent risk of imperfections as you’re relying on the skills and craftsmanship of your trades, and the weather. There are a lot more variables with render,” said Neil.
Hardie Embedded Texture Technology creates beautiful textures without the need for specialist trades. The 8.5mm thick fibre cement panels connect to each other with shiplap joints, are cut to size, and typically gun-nailed. This simple and streamlined installation process means only carpentry trades are required for installation with no need for specialist trades to set joints and apply textures.
The 1200mm wide panels are available in four lengths, enabling builders to further increase installation efficiency and help reduce wastage at the same time. The cladding is delivered pre-primed and ready to paint so you can clad and paint on the same day and complete projects sooner.
Engineered to endure, Hardie Brushed Concrete Cladding delivers a durable solution backed by a 30-year warranty. Deemed non-combustible, Hardie Brushed Concrete Cladding adheres to Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) requirements, up to BAL40 and can be used as part of a Hardie Smart Fire and Acoustic Wall System, which achieves a fire resistance level (FRL) of up to 60 minutes. Codemark certification provides confidence and assurance that when installed in accordance with the requirements of the installation guide, it complies with the relevant requirements of the NCC.
Hardie Brushed Concrete Cladding is part of the Hardie Architectural Collection of distinctive fibre cement textures and profiles, allowing for the discovery of new exterior options and the opportunity to visualise how products combine to take design versatility to a new level.
