Magnetic Automation Pty Ltd installed six MPR retractable barriers for a
transport provider to control the entry and exit of pedestrians in the
restricted areas.
Both the entry and exit points had two standard width barriers and one
wider barrier to accommodate large volumes of pedestrian traffic. The MPR
series barriers are designed to control pedestrians entering or exiting
restricted areas, usually under surveillance in low security situations.
Magnetic MPR retractable barriers feature a stainless steel housing as
well as LED gate end displays that notify pedestrians whether it is safe to
proceed. The access control system for these barriers incorporate a barcode
reader for tickets purchased at the ticket office and can also accommodate
existing travel smart cards on a separate reader.
In this particular installation, the foundation under the barrier sat at
a 45-degree angle, requiring an attachment base to be built to accommodate the
slope and ensure the barrier housing was level.
