Screenwood Blackbutt panels were selected by Prestige Joinery to assist with reverberation control and acoustic comfort at the Lowy Institute in Sydney.
A leading Australian think-tank, the Lowy Institute focuses on research and discussion on global issues from an Australian perspective. The institute hosts seminars and conferences where leading national and international experts discuss a broad range of interests including foreign policy, journalism, politics and economic matters.
Since the venue was designed to facilitate education and debate, it was important to address the acoustic performance in shared spaces to allow for comfortable communication. Prestige Joinery found a solution for the acoustic challenges in the indoor environment in Screenwood Blackbutt panels, which were supplied with a black acoustic textile backing.
Screenwood’s panels not only help to control the acoustic environment, but also conceal the substrate. The locally sourced plantation Blackbutt displays its characteristic warm even texture, adding visual interest and warmth to the space.
