Wattyl was the preferred coatings supplier for the Charles Perkins Centre at the University of Sydney.
Sydney’s latest state-of-the-art research and education hub for obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, the six-storeyed Charles Perkins Centre – designed by FJMT and Building Studio for Multiplex – is spread across 46,700 square metres of built-up space consisting of offices as well as wet and dry laboratory spaces for over 950 clinicians and 1455 undergraduates. A full-height atrium with curved balconies and interconnecting sweeping staircases are standout features in the building’s interior architecture.
Wattyl coatings were specified for this world-class health facility due to their superior product quality and colour reproduction. Additionally, all Wattyl paints surpassed stringent environmental impact requirements for the facility and delivered on the project’s durability and coatings performance needs.
Products featured in the Charles Perkins Centre project include Wattyl Ultra for the walls and ceilings; Wattyl I.D for feature walls and wet area ceilings; and Wattyl Aqua Trim for the doors and trim as well as the walls and ceilings. All the specified coatings are Green Star compliant.
