BubbleDeck eliminates beams and reduces columns to allow for more space. It is a concrete slab with soccer ball-sized plastic bubbles or spheres within a lattice of steel. It is just as strong as a normal concrete slab, only lighter. It eliminates the need for non-structural concrete, making build ing time quicker, more cost effective and more environmentally friendly due to the utilisation of fewer materials.
The product allows for spans up to 50 per cent longer than other methods. To create a slab, BubbleDeck uses 1 kg of plastic balls instead of 100 kg of concrete. Based in Perth, BubbleDeck is dis tributed in Australia through manufacturer Gocrete.
