An aluminium window range has won the GreenSmart Product Award for 2012 from the Housing Industry Association (HIA).

The GreenSmart Awards recognise HIA members who build or design environmentally-friendly homes, find solutions to water and resource efficiency or create new products for the building industry.

Presented last week in Sydney, Dowell Windows won for its ThermaLine Windows range, which the HIA described as a ‘versatile, high performing and cost effective aluminium window’.

“Smaller lots and contemporary designs are driving the need for increased glazing in homes,” the winner citation notes.”

With U-values as low as 1.7, Dowell says the aluminium windows are rated the most energy efficient on the Australian residential market.

  • Kingspan Insulation - Kingspan AIR-CELL Permicav
  • Stratco (Australia) Pty Ltd - Solatop BIPV
  • Tankworks - Evolution MkII
