he 100 Market Street commercial tower is now Australia's largest 6 star - Green Star Office Design v2 certified refurbishment.
During the redevelopment of 100 Market Street, 90 per cent of the existing structure was re-used in the refurbishment and over 80 per cent of demolition and construction waste was recycled.
The building has also been designed to achieve a 41 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions above the highest NABERS Energy rating (5 Stars) through an on-site tri generation system. The trigeneration system has been designed to engage the generator to satisfy heating and cooling loads through the absorption chiller. If addi tional cooling is required, the electrical chiller is engaged and additional heating is achieved through the gas-fired boiler.
Occupant amenity has been optimised by ensuring high levels of thermal comfort through an efficient façade design and air-conditioning system, improving natural daylight levels and improving access to external views by nearly 50 per cent by demolishing the existing floorplate to include feature atria light wells and façade panels.
A site-wide black water recycling system and other water saving initiatives will also represent a 93 per cent reduction in potable water use.
The refurbished 100 Market Street commercial tower is the first stage to be completed of the Westfield Sydney development.
