A range of unique projects entered in this year’s Building Designers Association Victoria (BDAV) Building Design Awards have gone on display at Federation Square.
The display showcases the state’s passion for innovative design and creativity.
BDAV’s awards recognise projects in a wide range of categories including, residential design, interior design, heritage conservation, energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and non-residential design.
More than 40 designs have been submitted by Victoria’s most talented building designers. The major award – the Building Design of the Year – is to be selected as the most outstanding submission from the major category award winners.
Talents of emerging designers, with some impressive entries from students studying the Advanced Diploma in Building Design (Architectural), also be featured in the display.
BDAV president Michael O’Sullivan encourages Victorians to learn more about the high level of creativity and expertise of Victoria’s building design fraternity.

“People will be amazed by the entries we have received for the 2013 BDAV Building Design Awards,” O’Sullivan says.
“The submissions received this year reflect the high calibre of building design offered to Victorians, and our judges continue to be impressed by the standard of entries.”

The awards exhibition will be on display from 15 to 26 July in The Atrium at Federation Square.
Winners will be announced at the BDAV’s Annual Dinner on 27 July, and profiled in Winning Design – a popular annual magazine published by the BDAV and enjoyed by Victorians looking to build or renovate.
