Leighton Contractors have signed on to almost 13,000 square metres of the Spowers Architects and Cox Architects designed 567 Collins St building which will be the largest PCA Premium Grade tower constructed in Melbourne in the last 25 years.
The development is targeting a 5 Star Green star and 5 Star NABERS rating and will have a 100 per cent fresh air under-floor air distribution system, 100 per cent standby power generation, energy efficient lighting and state-of-the-art building management systems will also be provided.
The design incorporates a 16 metre high entry to the building before transitioning to a foyer height of six metres.
The building occupies a site of 3,942 square metres and has a 74 metre frontage along Collins Street and comprises seven sky rise levels, eight high rise levels and seven campus levels, two levels of mixed use, ground floor, car park levels, storage facilities and associated levels for plant.
The 26 level tower is almost 50 per cent leased following the announcement of a new lease to Leighton Contractors which will establish its Victorian head office across 12,700 square metres of the campus component of the building.
They will join law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth who signed a lease in late 2012 for 8,800 square metres of the building’s skyrise.

“We moved quickly late last year to unlock the site’s potential by redesigning the project to meet market occupancy requirements as well as to accommodate the Leighton tenancy.”
Leighton Properties are currently in negotiations to sell the building to a potential consortium of investors.
Construction of the 55,000 square metres tower began in January this year with completion expected in mid 2015.
