Entries are now open for the 2013 Public Domain Awards presented by Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia (CCAA) which aim to recognise innovative applications of concrete in the public arena.

There are four categories to enter: Streets and Paths, Precincts, Walls and Bridges.

The Awards are closing on the 31 May and to be eligible for the 2013 competition, projects must have been completed between April 1, 2011 and March 31, 2013.

The Awards have been running every second year for the past 17 years, with the last awards held in 2011. Top honours were awarded to Ballast Point Park at Birchgrove on the Sydney Harbour foreshore which was designed by architecture firm, McGregor Coxall.

The firm introduced used, recycled and new concrete 'to help relate the history of the site and, at the same time, reveal and enhance the natural beauty of the location'.
