Alexandrina Council and the City of Victor Harbor are seeking expressions of interest from parties for the architectural design, documentation and lead consultant role for the construction of the Fleurieu Regional Aquatic Centre.

The councils have formed a partnership to deliver an indoor aquatic and recreation facility for the southern Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. It will represent a significant investment in health and wellbeing for the local Hayborough community.

Funding for the aquatic centre has already been approved by the coalition government, which will provide $7.5 million to fund it.

Jointly, the councils have budgeted up to $6.5 million each over the next three financial years to deliver the facility.Key inclusions of the project need to be an eight-lane by 25m lap pool, a recreation and therapy pool, kiosk, change rooms, plant room and car parking.

Alexandrina Council Mayor Kym McHugh and City of Victor Harbor Mayor Graham Philp say, “This project represents a significant investment in the health and wellbeing of our community, provides learn-to-swim and training facilities so desperately needed, facilitate social opportunities for residents, provides much needed employment opportunities and improves the visitor experience within the area leading to broader community economic benefits.”
