Sydneysiders will today be able to see plans for pedestrian link from Central Station to Darling Harbour, the project’s aim to complement the proposed new Entertainment Precinct and the Frank Gehry building being developed nearby.
The project design is led by ASPECT Studios with Choi Ropiha Fighera.
The Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority community information display will be set up near the railway bridge over Ultimo Road - entry via Ultimo Road, Thomas Street or the Devonshire Tunnel — today on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 June 2012 from 10 am to 2 pm.

About the project
Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority says the Central Station to Darling Harbour Pedestrian Link project provides a 'whole of government' solution to facilitating important cross city links through to Darling Harbour and the foreshore.
The project aims to:
- create an integrated linear park that supports and reflects the dynamic and innovative character of the Ultimo learning, communications and cultural institutions
- provide improved pedestrian and cyclist access and circulation from Central Station into the south-west corner of Darling Harbour
- provide pedestrians with a traffic-free connection from Central Station to Darling Harbour
- upgrade the overall landscape, amenity and character of the area to complement the proposed Sydney International Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct project (SICEEP) and the University of Technology's (UTS) Dr Chau Chak Wing building, designed by Frank Gehry
- provide UTS students with a level connection between the Broadway and Haymarket campuses
- incorporate environmentally sustainable initiatives, and heritage interpretation of the former rail corridor.
