Foster, Piano and Nouvel among others are put on a pedestal by one sculptor in the gardens of the famous Palace of Versailles.
Xavier Veilhan is presenting several works created especially for the Veilhan Versailles exhibition that establish connections between site, space and art.
Above, tourists look at sculptures called "The architects", classical-style portraits created using a sophisticated digital scanning technique. Famous architects are perched high on barely outlined pedestals that function as frames to the landscape.
Other sculptures include "Le carrosse" (The large carriage), an apocalyptic purple wagon that tears across the front of the palace and a sculpture representing Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space and the first man to have seen the earth as an object.
The exhibition will run until 13 December 2009 at the royal château in the Versailles suburb of Paris.
