Woodhead has appointed French architect and interior designer Meriem Hall to lead its hospitality portfolio in Singapore and Asia.
Hall brings more than 20 years of international industry experience to the team, having designed luxury hotels, resorts, residences and lifestyle collections from concept to completion.
Hall’s passion for hotels comes from having grown up travelling the world as part of her father’s work for the United Nations. After graduating with a degree in architecture in Paris, she worked initially as a set designer for cultural exhibitions.
“Every project is a new start. My design approach is that of ‘communication through space’,” Hall said.
“By creating the setting for desired emotions with space, we give the guest a sense of identity. Through emotions we create an experience, and it is this experience which you take home with you. This is what gives significance to space and the overall hotel experience. The guest leaves with a special experience that is consistent with the brand and is memorable.”
Hall will work closely with Singapore based regional principal, Andrew Carmichael.
