The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) recently presented Jan Flook with their annual design award from a large body of entrants at the awards night held in Sydney.
Flook is the director of Libertine Chandeliers, based at Hansen Street Studios in Newport, which makes custom chandeliers from traditional glass chandeliers for hotels, restaurants, galleries, offices and other commercial spaces.
A graduate of the Florence Design Academy in Italy where he won the Best Student Award, Flook has worked in Milan, Turin, Australia and New Zealand for a number of design companies.
The latest work from Flook’s one-year-old company can be seen at the Chiminello House pictured below.
The Crown Atlantic restaurant on the South Bank Boulevard currently has 12 of the firm’s large chandeliers made only from rope, and 20 handmade fixtures lighting the outside area.
