The Australian Institute of Architects has awarded top honours to Viridian Noosa: Stage 3 by JMA Architects, Currimundi Beach House by Loucas Zahos and Caboolture Hub by Peddle Thorp in the Sunshine Coast Regional Architecture Awards.

Currimundi Beach House was awarded House of the Year and consists of three pavilions of varying sizes. Viridian Noosa stage 3 was awarded joint Gabriel Poole Award for Building of the Year along with Caboolture Hub, and is the last stage in the Viridian Village development. Heavy masonry was used on the flatter regions of the hillside location while lighter materials were incorporated for the villas on a more vertical angle.

The jury commented that the building reflected "a direct response to the complex site is reflected in individual variations in each unit, focussing on rainforest, ocean or hillside views, while maintaining privacy.
