Property developer Mirvac has enlisted Australian fashion designer Bowie Wong, from the label Bowie, to design a dress to help promote the new 39 storey residential tower in Docklands, Melbourne.
The architectural and interior design of 'Array' was undertaken by Mirvac.
The building is set back eight metres from the waters edge and features angular architectural design with a sheer glazed façade as well as a lobby with backlit onyx stone walls and fabric panelling.
The interior of the apartments feature Gaggenau appliances, a private internal lift, timber flooring and three metre high ceilings.
The tower will have a five storey podium with 205 residences in total comprised of one, two and three bedroom apartments, three to four bedroom townhouses and bedroom sky residences with apartments and townhouses ranging from 55 square metres to 427 square metres.
Bowie has designed a $30,000 gown which aims to 'reflect the architectural beauty of the tower, embracing its iconic form'.
Julian Venning, Mirvac design director said:
“Fashion and architecture both encapsulate incredible design and craftsmanship. Bowie’s striking, inspired creation brings Array to life in a new design form – it is a beautiful representation of the aspirational nature of the tower.”
Wong said:
“When creating the inspired gown, I wanted to capture the building’s form, sense of movement and the way the water reflects the silver and blue hues of the sky,” said Bowie.
The building is due for completion in 2015.
