Winners of the 18th annual Building Designers Association of Victoria (BDAV) Building Design Awards have been announced.
Covering some of Victoria’s most impressive building design projects, the awards have recognised projects in a wide range of categories including residential design, interior design, heritage conservation, energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and the full range of non-residencial design, including commercial, industrial and public buildings.
Judges were impressed with the high calibre of aesthetic design offered by building designers to residential and non-residential projects.
Entries were judged on the quality of the design process with a focus on design excellence.
Elements such as architectural form, neighbourhood or landscape context, environmental sustainability, cost-effectiveness and innovative use or materials and technology were taken into account.
BDAV president Michael O’Sullivan says the awards celebrated excellence in design offered by Victoria’s most talented building designers.
They showcase the high quality of building design offered to Victorians, and our judges were again impressed by the standard of entries received this year, O’Sullivan says.
“Winners demonstrated innovation, expertise, and collaborated strong aesthetics and environmental considerations to create winning projects.”
