Brian Donovan of the recently formed BVN Donovan Hill will be the first to speak at The Zeitgeist Lecture Series at the Robin Boyd designed House in Walsh Street, Melbourne on 26 February.

The series will feature ten architects who will base their talks on the idea that 'making artefacts has consequences' and Donovan will base his talk about the 'intelligence and processes which embed buildings with the knowledge of its designers and makers.'

Donovan said:

"The enduring qualities of buildings relate to experience. Almost subliminal responses to such things as open and closed, light and dark, rough and smooth, in and out, are experiential qualities that an architect can enable through consideration of scale and materiality."

"A good building should provoke the broadest possible range of experiences," he said.
