The 2014 Think Brick Awards was held recently in Melbourne with several talented
architects submitting projects featuring the stylish use of grey and coloured
masonry blocks from Austral Masonry . An Austral Masonry project took home the
Kevin Borland Commercial and Residential Masonry award.
Clayfield House, the winning masonry project was elegantly designed by
the talented Richards & Spence Architects from Fortitude Valley, Brisbane,
and constructed with GB Honed blocks in Porcelain covering the interior of the

The Think Brick Awards program is organised and managed by key industry
bodies including Think Brick Australia, the Roof Tile Association of
Australian, and the Concrete Masonry Association of Australia. The concrete
masonry award category was added in 2013 due to popular demand, and expanded to
include residential projects this year to celebrate excellent concrete masonry
design in any form around Australia.
Sister company Austral Bricks was also well represented at the Think
Brick Awards, with projects winning in both the commercial and residential
bricks categories.
The annual Think Brick Awards celebrate and promote the use of heavyweight construction materials in the Australian market. Awards are given across five categories covering bricks, roof tiles, and concrete masonry.
