A non profit professional institute namely Australian Inst of Landscapes Architects was formed to widen the landscape architectural profession. Australian Inst of Landscape Architects concentrates on the structure, network and leadership to focus the intellectual energy of Australian Landscape Architects by creating enjoyable, meaningful and sustainable environment. Some of the events conducted by Australian Inst of Landscape Architects include an international conference on “Urban Biodiversity and Design”. This conference summarised on scientific and practical approaches of implementing the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in urban areas.
The members of Australian Inst of Landscape Architects initiated a program called Continuing Professional Development Program (CPD) to encourage the members taking part in the ongoing self education program. The CPD Program was made compulsory for registered landscape architects. The CPD Program was conducted based on a system of points allotted to hours of CPD activity undertaken. Sponsorship programme from Australian Inst of Landscape Architects reviewed the opportunity for attracting support from various industries. The function and role of the Australian Inst of Landscape Architects is to advance the practice of landscape architecture within Australia by informing the allied professions and other communities to contribute their skills to landscape architecture profession.
