CSR Limited has taken 18th position on the prestigious BRW 50 Most Innovative Companies list for 2013.
Taking 18th place on the list of 50 in its first year of inclusion, the leading building products supplier was recognised for innovations including CSR House, the state-of-the-art building research centre built in Schofields in western Sydney to determine how different energy saving products could be integrated to improve energy efficiency and cost.
Featuring over 140 monitoring sensors, the house is also used as an R&D facility and has achieved an 8-star energy rating, with total energy consumption 70 per cent less than an equivalent-sized new house.
Describing the honour as fantastic recognition of their work in building a culture of innovation at CSR, CEO Rob Sindel said that they are immensely proud of their team, who contribute to sustainable innovation in the industries they work in every day.
Another recent innovation by CSR was the launch of CSR Building Knowledge, a new e-zine created specifically for builders, specifiers and various professionals in the building and construction industry to provide information drawn from CSR’s wide body of building product and science knowledge.
The BRW Top 50 Innovators list is compiled by Melbourne-based innovation consultancy, Inventium, led by Amntha Imber and supported by a team of judges from a variety of backgrounds, including BRW Editor, James Thomson, media personality James O’Loghlin and finance expert, Peter Switzer.
