Civenex is partnering with Pickles Auctions to host a second hand
equipment auction at NSW’s premier infrastructure expo, Civenex 2015. Pickles
Auctions is Australia’s largest auction and valuations group.
This is the first time in the public works and construction industry
that an auction is being held as part of an industry field day. This year is
also particularly significant for Civenex as it celebrates its 60th anniversary
as well as for Pickles Auctions, which is in its 50th year of service.
Bruce Connors, Director – Industrial for Pickles explains that the Civenex
Auction will help contractors and fleet managers get the best possible price
for their equipment while also saving both buyers and sellers a lot of time and
money.
According to Bruce, the Civenex Auction offers an arena for contractors to
bring along the equipment they no longer want in their fleet, auction it off
and have the capital available to shop around the wide range of exhibitors at
Civenex. He added that the auction will have about 50 assets on offer including
trucks, excavators and compaction equipment, all late-model and low-hours. In
addition to buyers and sellers from all parts of the industry, the Civenex
Auction will also have participation by a few local councils for selling their
gear.
John Roydhouse, CEO of the Institute of Public Works Engineering
Australasia – NSW Division (IPWEA), which hosts Civenex, describes the auction
as a positive step for the event and the industry. He observed that after
a solid 60 years of growth and expansion, it was time to broaden the scope of
the event beyond being NSW’s premier infrastructure expo to present Civenex as
the leading industry meeting place.
He adds that the inclusion of the auction to this year’s show has
attracted a wide range of valuable offerings, including new and quality used
equipment, making Civenex NSW’s premier infrastructure marketplace and this
year’s ‘must-attend’ industry event.
Civenex 2015 will take place on 20 and 21 May 2015 at Sydney Dragway,
Ferrers Road, Eastern Creek, NSW. The Civenex Auction will be held on Thursday
21 May.
