Available now from Enzie Stairs , the enzie Universal spiral staircase offers greater flexibility in size and material, particularly with the optional columnless staircase now available.
The Universal spiral staircase is a new range of curved and geometric stairs from Enzie Staris. The Universal spiral staircase is available in any diameter up to 3m and can be constructed from a choice of materials including, but not limited to:
- glass
- timber
- stainless steel
- stone; and
- concrete.
Suitable for both internal and external applications, depending on the material chosen, the Universal spiral staircase opens up a range of new design possibilities, including adding an internal handrail, or the removal of the column to create a geometric or helical stair. Risers can also be left open to create a light and open stair, or they can be enclosed to give a greater sense of security.
Customers can choose from Enzie Stairs range of powder-coated finishes for their Universal spiral staircase, or have the steel components made from stainless steel. The steel components are hot-dip galvanised and can be subsequently powder coated in one of Enzie Stairs 22 standard colours, or, with a wide range of decorator colours available from the Dulux Colour range Enzie Stairs can meet almost every decorating situation.
The inlays of the treads on a Universal spiral staircase can also be made from virtually any material including, but not limited to:
- glass
- Australian hardwoods
- comcork
- rubber
- steel mesh
- stone; and
- concrete.
For maximum strength and safety, the curved nature of Universal spiral staircases provides a handrail in front of the user whilst moving up and down the staircase. An optional inner handrail and or balustrade allows for more useable tread space and gives the user the security of a handrail on either side of the stair.
When designing a Universal spiral staircase for stairs larger than 1880mm in diameter that allow two way traffic, the tread area nearest the centre column on the inside can be uncomfortable due to steepness and lack of step depth. To overcome this difficulty, Enzie Stairs offer alternative construction techniques, such as the columnless staircase. Built using a construction technique known as Monocoque, the columnless staircase is built in a way that supports structural load by using an object's external skin as opposed to using an internal frame or truss.
