Nestled in an unassuming office space, Adelaide's leading local design and build company Craig Linke Bespoke Building embarked on a project that was closer to home than usual. This time, the project, also known as ‘Home Base’, was their own. It involved transforming a vacant office into an inviting, warm space to welcome clients and a place to showcase their design capabilities in collaboration with trusted suppliers.
"The goal was to establish a warm, welcoming environment where we could host clients and highlight the excellence of our work and the quality of our suppliers’ products," explains Craig.
The outcome is a cosy, detail-rich studio that clients and staff can enjoy for years to come – and the Escea TFS650 wood fireplace played a pivotal role in achieving that goal. The fireplace is a central element in the studio’s design, enhancing the space's overall aesthetic and setting the tone for the rest of the space.
"I love the warmth and romance of a wood fire," says Craig. "It creates a unique atmosphere that both our clients and team appreciate."
The Escea TFS650 freestanding wood fireplace at Craig Linke Bespoke Building’s HQ features a neutral limestone paver backdrop atop a custom concrete hearth
The fireplace is prominently positioned on a custom white concrete benchtop, ensuring it becomes the focal point. A neutral limestone paver backdrop complements the fireplace’s warmth, enhancing the overall design whether the fireplace is lit or not, while the simple folded steel surround detailing of the firebox impressed the interior design team.
A key feature that influenced Craig's choice was Escea's industry-leading direct vent technology. Unlike traditional wood fires that draw air from the room, Escea wood fireplaces operate independently of the indoor air, using external air to fuel the fire. This system prevents cold draughts and retains heat more effectively, ensuring optimal performance. The direct vent flue technology enhances efficiency, making the fireplace a superior choice without compromising on design.

A cohesive, design-rich space has been created that not only celebrates good design but emphasises product function and quality – core values that both Escea and the Craig Linke team share. A collaboration that ultimately provides their customers with the best solutions for their homes.
