Completed in 2011, the Albany Entertainment Center in Western Australia has been extremely successful at the recent Master Builders Excellence in Construction Awards in WA.
The Albany Entertainment Centre project took out several awards:
- Best Regional Project
- Best Regional State Government Building
- Best Steel Construction Project; and
- Best Public Use Building, Regional
Facing King George Sound, the site was selected as the home of this landmark entertainment centre as it would not only embrace culture and the local community, but encourage tourism as well.
Through careful detailing and consultation from award winning architects, Cox Howlett and Bailey Woodland, and award winning builder Doric Constructions, HM Metalcraft fabricated and installed approximately 80+ tonnes of VM Zinc material.
Fabricating and installing this large amount of VM Zinc has also resulted in HM Metalcraft being presented the Subcontractor Award for Cladding at the 2011 Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction awards.
VM Zinc was selected for the entertainment centre predominantly for its sustainable properties, low embodied energy and long life. VM Zinc also requires minimal maintenance and is durable and adaptable, offering design flexibility.
