After forming half a dozen windrows, composing of chicken manure and sugar cane mill mud, ready for composting, the whole area was submerged under water for three weeks, caused by heavy downpours.
When the waters finally subsided, the compost windrows had been flattened and “strangle bush” as the Fijians called it, had taken over the whole paddock. Despite lots of time and effort invested in the process, the strangle bush proved to make turning very difficult. A front end loader was arranged to clear out all the strangle bush and reform the compost windrows.
A Chinese built 120hp tractor was purchased to tow the Oz Turner CT3600 and operate the 8 ton Oz Spreader. Three months later, when an associate of Rockhound Attachments returned to check on their progress, the transformation he found was remarkable! The staff are now busy on the Oz Bagger, bagging and sealing fresh compost for the local market.
The tow behind compost turner by Rockhound Attachments Australia is available in 3 sizes: 1800, 2700 or 3600.
