The 19th century Carrington Centennial Care Centre located in Camden, NSW carried out an upgrade to its Recreation and Leisure Centre.
Designed by Denham Constructions, the historically and environmentally sensitive project features architect-designed balustrades fabricated by Stainform Pty Ltd within a tight delivery schedule.
Comprising of precisely aligned coated mild steel flat balusters, the balustrades feature an undulating form that mimics the rolling hills, blending sympathetically with the surrounding landscape. Kidney shaped voids provide a view to the lower floors and enable free-flowing pedestrian access.
The copper theme used in the building continues in the stainless steel handrails, benches and trims, which are finished with a special antique coating. LED lighting embedded in the handrails illuminates the walkways, giving a stunning visual effect.
