With recent demands placed upon the timber flooring industry, designers and specifiers have urged for a wide board timber floor to be made available for a variety of commercial and residential projects.
Engineered timber flooring has been around for approximately 20 years, but only up until recently has a product become available that not only satisfies the wide board demand, but also the durability and re-sanding requirements.
Uniwood 220 wide engineered timber flooring from Timber Floor Plus measures 21mm thick with a 6mm wear surface layer, which translates to being compatible with standard 19mm solid flooring. Uniwood can be sanded up to 3 or 4 times every 10-15 years or as needed, unlike regular engineered timber floors that only have a 3mm wear surface and cannot be re-sanded successfully.
Uniwood 220 has a long life expectancy thanks to the 6mm wear layer surface.
Timber Floor Plus has the knowledge to balance the 6mm veneer and the core, and the stability of the ten layer multi-ply core enables Uniwood 220 engineered timber floors to be installed directly over joists and on existing timber flooring as well as ply.
Timber Floor Plus offers Uniwood 220 in a variety of species finishes and designer surfaces. They can also locally produce matching stair nosing, and are capable of catering for special orders, regardless of the quantity required. Their factory can have the colour matched within five working days when an existing colour sample is provided.
Timber Floor Plus recently displayed the Uniwood range at designEX 2011 in Melbourne, and favourable acceptance from the designers and architects was observed, helping Uniwood wide board engineered timber flooring enter into major multi-residential projects.
Timber Floor Plus is happy to work closely with architects in future projects and special requests.
