A unique collaboration between sustainable materials organisation Unoil , manufacturer Palamont and designer Keith Melbourne has resulted in the creation of avant-garde cognac stools from bioplastic.
The project aims to showcase regenerative design by using renewable and waste-based materials to create new products.
The cognac stools are likely to contribute to a number of Green Star point categories including Volatile Organic Compounds: Tenancy Fitout Items, Mat-3: Recycled Content and Re-used Products and Materials. The NABERS (IEQ) Indoor Environment Quality is also expected to benefit.
Research reveals that Green Star rated buildings receive higher valuation, while addressing the ‘Sick Building Syndrome’ as well as carbon footprint.
This pilot project was commissioned by Fuji Xerox Australia in search of a new design approach to issues impacting the future of society.
