Immersive design
Hunter and Barrel strive to be a premier destination within the greater western Sydney dining district. In order to create a standout experience, Hunter and Barrel enlisted Design Partnership to help create a unique interior within their newest location that harnessed the beauty of nature to elicit a welcoming atmosphere.
Design Partnership are specialists in the hospitality design sector, delivering spectacular interiors that place people at the heart of their design. Their design process involves the team understanding how people use and behave in each space and developing design elements that complement and elevate this experience. The team at Design Partnership perfectly delivered the brief and have created a truly immersive space within the Parramatta location.
“The bespoke carpet design evolved from the need for a softer dining area, enabling guests to experience a more relaxed pace. Drawing inspiration from a real forest floor, the imagery emerged during autumn while contemplating the design, and as we watched golden brown and yellow leaves gently fall to the ground outside the office, covering the ground in a blanket of leaves. This revelation became the essence of the carpet's design for the restaurant,” says Roberto Zambri, Design Partnership.
The mesh of contemporary design with natural earth elements engages a range of senses of guests in attendance. The delightful aromas of the carefully prepared menu and the sounds of careful preparation from the open kitchen amongst the chatter of guests work to complement every considered detail of the design of the dining space to create an overall elevated experience.
Designer Jet® technology
Designer Jet is a world-class custom carpet technology for creating an infinite array of colours and bespoke designs you would never have thought possible in a carpet. It works by taking any striking pattern, drawing or image and using precision engineering to inject the dye into the carpet, offering a flexible, creative and performance driven carpet solution. Design Partnership were looking to bring nature elements inside and turned to us to recreate the beauty of autumn leaves underfoot to the floor of Hunter and Barrel’s Parramatta location. Designer Jet provided the ideal flooring solution and enabled Design Partnership along with our design team to bring the outside indoors in creating a custom carpet that provides the experience of walking amongst nature whilst being suitable for the commercial environment of a restaurant.
Designer Jet carpet is rated ACCS contract heavy or extra heavy duty, which, along with excellent stain resistance, provided a robust, noise insulating surface to combat the demands of regular foot traffic and deliver the ideal flooring solution for Hunter and Barrel.
