Industrial grade safety plates from Grip Guard Non Slip were installed on the surface of the Fairfield Pipe Bridge to ensure safety for hundreds of pedestrians and cyclists crossing the bridge each day.
The existing chequer plate surface on the bridge was manufactured with a tread pattern to promote slip resistance; however, the non-porous metal surface had a high slip potential when wet.
By installing a series of carborundum modified safety plates to the chequer plate, the bridge surface now achieves P5 rating – the highest slip rating possible.
Grip Guard safety plates are manufactured from heavy grade metal such as galvanised, aluminium and stainless steel. All layers are hand-laminated and not sprayed, and the safety plates are cured at optimum temperature and humidity without the use of ovens. The safety plates are resistant to all solvents, petroleum products and acid solutions, and will provide years of use.
The non-slip safety plates are available in a variety of colours and the carborundum surface is offered in a range of grades from barefoot to offshore grade, making it suitable for almost any application.
Grip Guard safety plates provide a non-slip surface for ramps, walkways, bridges, workshops and anywhere else where safety is paramount. The non-slip plates can be attached to just about any surface including chequer plate, grid mesh, concrete and timber.
