The Sarjeant Gallery in New Zealand has made history as the first project in the country to showcase SUPAWOOD's new acoustic panels with miniscule perforations. This installation also features the elegant Midnight Black Natural Timber Veneer finish, making the project a true standout in terms of acoustic performance and interior design.

Designed by Warren and Mahoney’s Wellington office, the SUPAMICRO panels were installed by Rob O’Keeffe Joinery in the gallery's café and gift shop areas. The choice of SUPAMICRO signals a shift in how designers approach acoustic performance. Unlike traditional acoustic treatments that compromise aesthetics with visible holes or slots, SUPAMICRO’s micro-perforation technology is practically invisible. The result? A sleek, sophisticated surface where the natural beauty of the woodgrain finish takes centre stage.

Rob O’Keeffe from Rob O’Keeffe Joinery commented: “Supawood worked hard to get what we needed. We are very happy with the product. The project looks awesome.”

Here are some additional benefits SUPAMICRO offers:

Virtually invisible perforations: The micro-perforations are so fine that they remain undetectable at normal viewing distances, preserving the seamless, high-end look of woodgrain or painted finishes.

Unmatched acoustic performance: Achieve superior sound absorption without visual compromise, ensuring a calm, acoustically comfortable environment.

Custom finish options: Available in a range of stunning woodgrain, veneer, and solid colour finishes, including the stunning Midnight Black that made its debut on this project.

Sustainable design: As an Australian-made product, SUPAMICRO supports local manufacturing while offering environmentally conscious design options.

The SUPAMICRO system allows architects and designers to prioritise both beauty and functionality.
