The Portland International Airport Terminal (PDX) Redevelopment, opened in August 2024, is a landmark in mass timber construction. Spanning over 9 acres, this project features a 37,160 m² timber roof supported by over four hundred 24m glulam arches and a mass plywood panel roof diaphragm. Its lattice design, made from over 40,000 pieces of Douglas Fir, is inspired by local weaving traditions and highlights the versatility of timber in modern architecture.
Join Jared Revay, Director of Manufacturing at Timberlab, for an in-depth look at the design, prefabrication, and assembly behind this project. Gain insights into the roof’s complex construction, broken into 18 massive cassette panels, rolled into place with precision.
If you are fascinated by the highest levels of innovation in timber design, manufacture, and construction, you won't want to miss the learnings from this WoodSolutions webinar.
