The Living Future Institute of Australia (LFIA) has announced the opening of applications for the 2025 Biophilic Design Awards.
Established in 2012, LFIA is dedicated to transforming the built environment through the adoption of regenerative design principles. As an affiliate of the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), LFIA envisions a future that is socially just, culturally rich, and ecologically restorative.
To achieve this vision, LFIA promotes several key programs. The Living Building Challenge (LBC) is a rigorous performance standard that encourages projects to operate as efficiently and beautifully as nature's architecture.
The Biophilic Design Initiative focuses on reconnecting people with nature within built environments, fostering well-being and productivity.
The Biophilic Design Awards celebrate outstanding projects that embody the principles and benefits of biophilic design.
With a focus on creating spaces that reconnect people to nature, the awards provide a platform to showcase innovative, sustainable design solutions.
This year, for the first time, entrants from New Zealand are invited to apply alongside their Australian counterparts.
Applications close Sunday 30 March 2025 at 11:59pm AEDT. All built and occupied Australian and New Zealand projects are eligible to apply. Don’t miss the opportunity to highlight your biophilic design project. Apply here.
