GroupGSA has announced its merger with Melbourne practice Whitefield McQueen Irwin Alsop (WMIA).

Design practice WMIA is well known for innovative, sustainable projects. With a portfolio of national and international work, its projects encompass government and private clients, urban design, infrastructure and regional community projects that are expected to complement and expand the GroupGSA portfolio.

The Melbourne studio will operate through a transition period as GroupGSA Whitefield McQueen Irwin Alsop.

WMIA’s own project history stretches back over 105 years, with the merger of Whitefield McQueen and Irwin Alsop in 2008.

Irwin Alsop as a practice had a venerable history, particularly in health projects. WMIA has continued this health capability with recent significant projects including Emergency and Mental Health Facilities for Dandenong Hospital and multiple Ambulance facilities. This expertise is complemented by iconic library and community buildings, including the award winning Waurn Ponds and Bacchus Marsh Libraries.
