Construction work has begun on the $350-million Putney Wharf mixed-use project, which will deliver a choice selection of luxury harbourfront residences, complemented by sophisticated dining and retail along with a 36-berth marina.
Designed by SJB for joint venture partners, Abadeen and PERIFA, part of Versatile Group, the project is located on a landmark heritage adaptive reuse site – the former Halvorsen’s Boatshed – in Sydney’s northwest, 14km from the CBD.

Boasting 300 metres of spectacular waterfrontage on the harbour at Putney, the premium, lifestyle-oriented, mixed-use wharf precinct includes 67 luxury apartments and townhouses.
SJB is working in close collaboration with heritage consultants, Curio Projects and landscape architects, Dangar Barin Smith to deliver the project. Putney Wharf will offer three residential components:
The Halvorsen’s Apartments: A full restoration of the heritage-listed Halvorsen’s Boatshed, comprising 17 three-bedroom and two four-bedroom residences.
Waterview Terraces: Located on Waterview Street, comprising 18 three-storey, four-bedroom terraces.
The Residences: Consisting of two new-build three-storey apartment buildings, offering 30 two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments.

“Putney Wharf is a flagship project for Versatile Group in Australia. As one of the most transformative, significant waterfront projects in Sydney, we are beyond honoured that our construction arm, Versatile Construction, will be responsible for the successful delivery of this project,” Versatile Group chairman and CEO, Marco Fahd says.
“We understand the historical significance of the site and we’re incredibly proud to be breathing new life into it, while celebrating its heritage. We'll be preserving the original timber structure of Halvorsen’s Boatshed and reinterpreting the iconic facade.”
PERIFA managing director and co-founder, Fabrizio Perilli adds, “PERIFA is tremendously proud to be partnering with Abadeen, Phoenix Property Investors and Mitsubishi Estate Asia to deliver Putney Wharf.”
“We are committed to delivering a truly exemplar residential waterfront precinct for the future homeowners, marina berth owners and the local community,” Perilli says.
Abadeen’s CEO, Joe Tack says: “Putney Wharf is already having a transformative impact on the suburb of Putney. We have received particularly positive feedback from the local community and beyond.”

The development has already secured $170 million in apartment sales with the majority of the initial launch now sold. The three-storey, four-bedroom Waterview Terraces will be released later this year providing interested purchasers with the rare opportunity of securing a stunningly designed waterfront property with direct access to their own private harbour beach.
Completion of Putney Wharf is targeted for early 2027.
